Now that the rainy season has started and the weather is getting hot and muggy, we recommend a cool, smooth jelly that slides right down.
Please give it a try 😋
How to Make Hojicha Jelly with Ama-natto
Ingredients (Makes 4)
- Ama-natto (peanuts simmered in sugar): as much as you like
- Hojicha (roasted green tea): 2 tea bags
- Water: 400 ml
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Powdered gelatin: 8 g
- 4 jelly cups
How to Make It
1. Bring the water to a boil in a pot.
Once it boils, turn off the heat and add the hojicha tea bags. When the tea reaches the strength you like, take out the tea bags, add the sugar and powdered gelatin, and stir well.
2. Put the Ama-natto in the bottom of the cups and pour in the hojicha.

3. Once it has cooled a bit, chill it in the refrigerator. When it has set, it’s ready ♪

Tips for Making Hojicha Jelly with Ama-natto
Since the Ama-natto is already sweet, I used less sugar to keep the jelly lightly sweet.
Brewing hojicha from loose leaves takes some effort, so I used convenient tea bags instead ♪
The Product We Used for This Hojicha Jelly with Ama-natto

Our lightly sweetened Ama-natto made from Omasari (a large-kernel peanut variety) grown in Chiba, Japan, lets you taste the peanuts themselves. The sugar doesn’t flake off, and they’re very soft, so we also recommend them for older people.
