The gas flame saves time, the heat-holding power of a donabe (Japanese clay pot) saves on gas, and it still tastes great. I made it in a donabe so I’d get as few cooking utensils dirty as possible!

Ingredients

– Milk: 300 ml
– Eggs: 3 (medium)
– Sugar: 50 g
– Creamy Peanut Butter: 45 g

*Ordering from outside Japan? When you open a product page from overseas, an English shopping cart (WorldShopping BIZ) appears automatically, so you can order and have it shipped to you abroad.

How to Make It

1. Put the milk, eggs, and sugar into a bowl and mix. Put the peanut butter into the donabe.

2. Strain the egg mixture into the donabe.

3. Put the donabe over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring slowly.

*The peanut butter melts and blends into the egg mixture as it cooks, so it’s fine to add it to the pot in a lump.

4. When it starts to bubble around the edges and set, turn off the heat, put on the lid, and let the residual heat set the pudding. Leave it for half a day, and it’s done.

*We served it with seasonal fruit and brown sugar syrup.

*Results may vary depending on the type of donabe.
*If it hasn’t set firmly enough, heat it in the microwave a little at a time, checking as you go.
*If the heat is too high, the finished pudding will have a grainy texture.

All of us on the staff enjoyed it together ♪

{"@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "Recipe", "name": "Donabe Peanut Pudding with Peanut Butter", "description": "Make peanut-flavored pudding in a donabe (Japanese clay pot) with milk, eggs, sugar and creamy peanut butter.
