Peanuts are no exception.

The peanuts you have bought are damp, and you may think to yourself, “I can’t eat them! They don’t taste good!” I wish I could revive them before I throw them away.

There is a way to revive peanuts before throwing them away.

Method #1: Microwave the peanuts.

Depending on the amount and degree of moisture, microwave them in a 600W microwave oven for 1 to 2 minutes.

The fish will be squishy immediately after heating, but it will become crispy as it cools down.

If it is not crispy enough, repeat the process one minute at a time.

If you cook it too much at once because it looks the same, it will get burnt.

Method #2: Use the toaster oven’s preheat.

Let it air-bake for about 5 minutes and stop. Toaster ovens have a lot of heat and are close to the flame.

Place foil inside and use the residual heat to remove moisture. Wait until it cools down.

Method #3: Roast in the oven

Roast in a preheated oven at 150°C for 5 minutes. Wait until it cools down.

Precautions for moist peanuts

Peanuts that smell moldy are dangerous and should never be eaten and discarded. Damp peanuts that have been moistened for a long time are equally dangerous.

When freshly heated and hot, peanuts are soft but not moist. When cooled, they become crispy.

This method assumes that the peanut product has been heated and dried.

There is no way to beat the pesnuts that have oxidized and become oily smelling. It is best to eat them up while they are new.

     あわせて読みたい

Peanut Preserve Tips: How to prolong the flavor of peanuts.
There is a trick to preserving peanuts.
